I really did not know how to take your post - however, I felt compelled to respond. First, I don't know if you are trying to say that the website is dying or if the Alumni Association's Homecomings are dying. I don't know if you have ever been to a Homecoming - because if you had you would see that we have a great turnout every year. All who attend have a great time and usually want to return the following year.

As for the posts about all the class reunions - I posted them for information. Plans are well underway for most of the reunions and those alumni from the classes mentioned on the site have already been contacted or will be contacted and that may be why the "view" counts are not as high as you think they should be.

Interest in the Castle Heights Alumni Association has not come to a dead end - and, yes, maybe someday in many later years to come, when there are not many living alumni left, you may be able to say "RIP" in a heartfelt way. Memories of life at Castle Heights Military Academy will last forever in the minds of every alumnus.

As for the website, if that is what you are referring to, it is not dead either. The sitemaster is Dean Richey '72 who volunteers his time to keep it running for us - not the person you name as "Milo".

The Forum may be a little more difficult to post on than it was about 6 years ago because we had to change the process of posting due to the junk and porn being posted - it takes a lot of time to remove infected porn and viruses from the site. As you must know, everyone has to register for an ID name and password to post. It is an easy process - any alumnus can get this by sending an email to the sitemaster (email address on Home page).

Also, you are in our database, but your address is no longer current. If you would send me (shosier@msn.com) your current address and email information, I would be happy to update our database, so you may receive our newsletters again.

Thanks. ... Susan

Thanks Susan. I was referring to the website. I am happy to hear the alumni association is alive and well but you would not know it from the drop off on this site. I have lived out of the States for over 20 years and only discovered the site a hand full of years ago. I flew up for my 30th from Nicaragua back in 04 and looked forward to seeing the postings. What has happened in the last 6 months is puzzling and sad. I suppose what irked me was that you ask for help from all those years and since mid June you get not one reply. That is what I was referring to. It all seemed very apathetic.
Appreciate the response.

It is regretful that an Alumni would speak negatively about our website or homecomings. This website was establish so alumnus could keep in touch. To find out about upcoming events, and get the latest news.
Some have grumbled about the registration process and keeping up with a username and password. So other sites have been established about CHMA and alumni. (Facebook, etc). I tried those websites and they all ask for a username and password. To get to your web e-mail, you need a username and password. Why is it so difficult to keep up with one on this website?
It is time to stop being negative and lets all be positive about this website and homecoming ever October.
If you don't approve of either, then stay out. It won't benefit you anyway.

Dean,
This was not an attack on the website as it was a comment on the lack of input from all the folks that are reading the forum and not saying anything.Go back to May and count how many times somebody wrote anything. Go back to the announcement about Bobby Todd passing away and how many people commented. That is what my comment is about. I don't believe I slammed anything about Homecoming and said to Susan that I was glad there was activity. When I see that she asked for help and that nobody responded for a month that is why I said something. Cause I do care. I guess everybody has moved on to someplace else. I go on the site twice a week and did when I was living overseas
Thanks for keeping the website up

Who will be the last Heightsman (Heightsperson) standing?
There could be a growth association.
Why is there not a parallel association for the children of Heights Alum?
Legacy is a big thing nowadays.
When Heights was active the legacy was sons, brothers and daughters attending.
Ken Hall would be a good organizer for this.
It could be called something catchy - Bratz of Heightz or Clones of the Castle.
Keep the memory alive.
After all, it is all about family.
No RIP in the eye of this Tiger.

Definitions of tiger:

noun: large feline of forests in most of Asia having a tawny coat with black stripes; endangered
noun: a fierce or audacious person
